Encouraging women in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and beyond in their journey as disciples of Jesus Christ

Director

DeeAnn Bragaw

My deepest prayer and my highest calling are to point our women to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who mentored His team of disciples so they could disciple others.

DeeAnn Bragaw serves as Director of Women’s Ministries for the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. In addition to being a fervent champion of prayer, DeeAnn’s passion is connecting women to Jesus, each other, and their communities and she thrives on creating space and resources for those connections to flourish.

DeeAnn earned her undergraduate degree in Education from Union Adventist University, and her master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. She initially served as an educator before transitioning in Women’s Ministries. DeeAnn created leadership resources and served as a Women’s Ministries leadership trainer for a national Christian publisher, later serving as Director of Women’s Ministries and Prayer Ministries for the Rocky Mountain Conference of Seventh-day Adventists before coming to the North American Division office.

A Colorado native, DeeAnn loves to be outside hiking, biking, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, and camping with her husband, Paul, and their family.

Assistant Director

Erica Smith

One of my greatest desires is to empower young women to have the tools to make wise choices in their relationships, recognizing that the choices they make now will impact them for their entire lives.

Erica Smith serves as the assistant director of Women’s Ministries for the North American Division. She is passionate about reaching young women with the message that they are “loved and seen” and offers free, confidential mentoring via the department’s “gorgeous2god” platform. Erica also dedicates time to providing education on abuse prevention and response through the NAD’s enditnow initiative.

Erica received her undergraduate degree in English from Southern Adventist University, after which she accepted a position in the General Conference Youth Department as an editorial assistant where she served for four years before transitioning to NAD Women’s Ministries. Erica is a licensed therapist and holds a masters degree in professional counseling from Liberty University.

Erica lives in Maryland with her husband, Gavin, where she also co-manages an animal rescue and spends time with her own pets, Boots, Max, and Lily.
